Beautiful Georgie | A real Halfpenny London bride
Being the founder of Moriarty Events, beautiful bride Georgie’s wedding was always going to be special. The wedding was supposed to be in Greece but the couple had to rethink things due to the pandemic. They decided to go ahead and tie the knot in Kent. Their big day was different to what they had planned, yet equally as special. I mean look at these gorgeous images by Pippa Mackenzie! So full of love.
I worked with Georgie to design a fully bespoke dress for her and she looked sensational in her one-of-a-kind gown.
“The thought of wearing a wedding dress filled me with so much fear but the moment Kate and I hatched a plan I actually couldn’t wait. I have known Kate at her brand for some time now and when I got engaged it was clear in my mind she would do the dress. We looked through all the wonderful dresses and bridal separates that she had in her amazing boutique and I tried on most styles and looked at amazing fabrics and embroideries We then played with a few pieces which suited my body shape, Kate instantly started to draw as we talked, the first design was perfect, she understood the look that I was trying to achieve and how I wanted to feel.

We were both naturally drawn to a specific fabric but played around with others layering them over the design we had made and the dress grew in front of my eyes. It was amazing to see the dress that only existed in my mind come to life. The process is amazing as it’s a bit like a gift that keeps on giving. Kate and her team make it so exciting and every appointment you leave even more excited, not just to wear these epic pieces for your wedding but to own these cool items forever!
The dress is modern and edgy but is very elegant. I guess you would say the style isn’t typically a wedding dress, which means for me I can use both elements in the future in different ways! I fully intend to wear both items again together or separately. I love the top and will wear it with some epic trousers. The skirt is so cool and I’m looking forward to wearing it again with some gorgeous platforms and an oversized jumper, or an amazing jacket. I can even imagine it looking really stunning for a red carpet do, which I attend for work. The priority was obviously is to have something incredibly special for my wedding but diverse enough to wear again. I think having something that’s versatile and can change so easily is just fun and livens up your wardrobe. Having these epic statement pieces can really allow you to dress well, far more often. It’s so important to have something that is sustainable, I believe sustainable fashion and living in this wonderful world is a necessity.”
Georgie was a dream bride to work with and I’m so happy to see her looking so totally head-over-heels in love. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! So much love from me and the entire team here.
