Create Day 2020 | My love of craft
The show must go on for the organisers of London Craft Week, albeit slightly differently to normal during these current times. Create Day is twenty four hours of non-stop human ingenuity and is an opportunity to engage with over 300 artists, makers, designers and creators in real time across the globe.
Join me as I reflect on my journey from being a small child with a big imagination and love of beautiful garments, to the designer I am today. Inspired by the couture gowns I loved in magazines growing up, my desire for knowledge became an obsession which fuelled a degree in womenswear, followed by a Masters in textiles at Central St. Martins, and continues to this day. My love affair with textiles and the urge to experiment became an integral part of Halfpenny London’s DNA. In this video I discuss my love and fascination with craft and what drives me to create my gowns.
