Beautiful Rosey | A real Halfpenny London bride
I’m so pleased to share these wonderful stories from couples who tied the knot this year. Beautiful bride Rosey and her new husband had planned to get married in May and, when the first lockdown was announced, they had to postpone.
“We were so excited to get married in our home town of London,” Rosey said. “Our original wedding date was May 2, but with six weeks to go, lockdown meant we pushed this back to December. With the news in September that weddings were reducing from 30 to 15, we seized the opportunity to bring our wedding forward and celebrate that weekend so that we could have our parents, our siblings, and all our bridal party. We feel incredibly blessed to have been able to do that, and for everyone for helping to make it happen! Halfpenny ensured my dress was ready in just a few short days’ notice – even picking out the perfect veil for me so I could whip in, pick up and continuing charging around London! Westminster Council found an SOS registrar within a matter of hours, and our venue – the RSA House on John Adam street were simply amazing. Every time I now shop on the strand, or walk into the National Gallery, I can be reminded of our amazing day and walking around London in my beautiful dress!”
It was a whirlwind few months in the summer and the Halfpennys were on hand to make sure every bride had their beautiful outfit amid lots of changes and challenges. When we see pictures like this, full of love and joy, it’s such a great reminder of why we do what we do.
After feeling a little lost when it came to dress shopping, Rosey came to see us and found the One in our Daffodil top and Bay Skirt.
“We all loved it – my mum, my sister, my best friends. We were all able to visit at different times throughout the process and were always welcomed into the beautiful Woburn Walk store. My stylist was just amazing and picked out three or four combinations that I just loved! I chose the silky Daffodil top and the embroidered Bay skirt. Our wedding was to be a black tie, London affair, and it felt suitably glamorous! I loved the stitched roses that covered the Bay skirt too – I can look at it for hours and still find more stunning detail. It just felt fun! I felt like a bride, just a London one!”
Fabulous florist Blue Sky Flowers worked with the couple, adapting the flowers to suit the changing season, and Rosey’s jewellery was bespoke from Rachel Boston, to complete her stunning engagement ring.
Rosey looked utterly gorgeous on her wedding day and her love shines out of these wonderful pictures by Andrew George Photography. Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish you all the love in the world in your new lives together.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
