Happy 15th anniversary Halfpenny London!

Fifteen years ago, something momentous happened to me: I was asked by my dear friend Emilia Fox to design her wedding dress. I was working as a stylist and costume designer at the time but I’d completed my degree in the 90’s and specialised in bridal wear so it wasn’t completely out of the blue!  It was an enormous honour and something I’ll never ever forget.  I was so nervous but Emilia loved the dresses (why stop at only one?!) and a guest commented on the day that I captured her in every stitch.  I was then asked to make another friend’s dress, then another…  Little did I know that fifteen years later the side business which started in my front room would blossom into what it is today.

Now, Halfpenny London has three buildings on a dreamy Dickensian street in Bloomsbury and I’ve recruited an epic team to work alongside me. I honestly have to pinch myself.  They say get a job you love and you’ll never work a day and I couldn’t agree more.  I absolutely adore working with brides and making their dreams come true.

These past few months have been strange to say the least but I can’t tell you how grateful I am to our wonderful brides for putting their trust in us.  Thank you to every bride who has chosen to wear Halfpenny London over the years.  We are all truly honoured to have played a part in your special day and there are many, many more special days to come.  I can’t wait to celebrate with you.

Happy fifteenth anniversary Halfpenny London.  Let’s see what the next fifteen years holds for us.  I have a feeling it’s going to be magical.
