Stunning Lauren | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Lauren married her beau in a relaxed summer wedding in the Herefordshire countryside and I’m lucky enough to share their stunning images with you today. Lauren is a self-confessed indecisive person so the task of choosing a wedding dress could have a been a tricky process for her. Luckily, she found her way to our boutique!
“Before visiting Halfpenny, I had been to another boutique and tried on a range of different designers and styles. At one point I thought I’d found the one, however my bridesmaids were not keen on it, so I walked away feeling really confused. However, I am so grateful for that experience because it led me to Halfpenny where I found my absolute dream wedding look!
From the moment I walked into Halfpenny it all felt completely different to what I’d experienced before. Firstly, it felt like being in a dream amongst all the INCREDIBLE dresses. I absolutely loved trying them on and Hannah was so lovely and helpful, and I knew from the off she really got the look I was going for. I tried on a LOT of dresses, because they are all so beautiful it was really hard to choose (but also because I was loving it and wanted to milk the experience!) Eventually I narrowed it down to two absolutely amazing dresses and I had to go back for a second appointment to make my final decision.
I adored the Finsbury because of its elegance and simplicity. I knew I wanted a simple, fitted dress but the Finsbury with its incredible skirt and wafts of beautiful crepe fabric added an extra element of drama, that I didn’t know I needed, until I tried it. I knew this was my dream dress because in between my first and second appointments, my mind kept racing back to one dress over and over again, and that was the Finsbury dress. When I thought about my wedding day, I really pictured myself wearing that dress and by the time I went back for my second appointment, I had already made up my mind.”
Lauren knew she wanted a veil and had decided to wait until a little closer to her wedding day to decide. Unfortunately, the couple had to postpone their wedding twice due to Covid.
“As I’m sure many other recent brides can attest to, it was super stressful having so much uncertainty around our wedding. But every cloud has a silver lining, and in my case this came in the form of the Unveiled collection. I was absolutely blown away by all of the incredible veils in this collection and couldn’t wait to try them. I felt amazing in all of them but the Soft Dandelion veil with its beautiful flowers complemented the simplicity of the Finsbury dress perfectly and I knew it would work so well in the beautiful garden surroundings at our venue, Dewsall Court, and with our amazing romantic flower designs by the brilliant Hattie Flower.”
We’ve heard so many stories from our brides since March 2020 and it broke my heart when people had to cancel. I’m so pleased everything worked out well in the end and Lauren’s choice of outfit was incredible. She accessorised with Jimmy Choo Sabine Pearl Satin Pumps and a beautiful vintage pearl clutch borrowed from her sister-in-law.
Congratulations to the lovebirds! Sending you all our love and wishing you all the luck in the world!
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
