Stunning Rosie | A Halfpenny London bride
Lovely couple Rosie and her new husband Jack said “I do” in February this year. The couple opted for a traditional and formal wedding with nods to Jack’s military background. When it came to her wedding dress, Rosie wanted a classic look to suit the overall feel of the day.
“Our wedding was quite traditional and formal, especially with the military influence,” Rosie said, “so I wanted a dress that would be in keeping with that style. I also wanted to look fun and chic too, and not old fashioned.
My appointment [at Halfpenny London] was a dream! I loved every second. I found myself completely in awe of all the dresses and looks we created. I had never appreciated fabrics before coming to Halfpenny London. I wanted to stroke everything! We tried on all the looks I already had in mind, as well as slightly different and unexpected styles which made the appointment really fun.
I chose the Harbour dress in satin, with the Christian overskirt. It was actually the look I had in mind when I went to the shop. It was perfect for what I wanted - the skirt gave me the traditional princess vibe for the ceremony, and the satin sleek dress was a fun, classic and sexy look for the evening.
I knew it was the one because I put it on and, despite all insecurities and anxieties of finding and choosing a dress, that all went away and I felt amazing in it. When the skirt was added, I felt like a queen. I just knew it was both exactly what I picture myself in, but also exactly what I would always look back on in years to come and still have the same feeling. The fabric was so luxurious and perfect for the setting and time of year.”
Rosie switched up her look not once, but twice! She rented our sequinned Bradley jacket from MyWardrobeHQ as the perfect cover up for a winter wedding whenever she had to travel outside, then wore the Harbour dress on its own for the party. The finishing touches were personal items of jewellery from her family, full of meaning and steeped in family history.
Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Here’s to a long and happy marriage!
Love,
Kate & The Halfpennys xxx
