Beautiful Helen | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Helen and her new husband Mads celebrated their love in October last year. Mads is Danish and the couple incorporated various Danish traditions into their celebrations, including speeches and songs during the dinner, kissing on chairs and under tables, and cutting the toes off the groom’s socks after the first dance!
When it came to finding her wedding dress, Helen was on a mission…
“Although I love fashion, I have limited patience for trying on clothes, so I tried to condense all my wedding dress shopping into one day. Halfpenny was my last appointment. It felt like a real treat to visit the London Boutique. The women who worked there were absolutely lovely and made me feel genuinely excited about trying on dresses (in a way I hadn’t before). I felt they immediately got a sense of my style and what I was looking for and were able to guide me through a range of options.
I really wanted something that made a statement and was looking for something bold and structured rather than light and floaty. When browsing online, the George top and skirt wasn’t among my favourites but when I tried it on, I felt confident, and loved the overall silhouette as well as those dreamy sleeves. It very quickly emerged as the clear number one…”
I love hearing stories like this and I do try to tell our brides to be prepared and do their research, but make sure you leave a little leeway for the unexpected to happen, and be open minded about what you try on. For Helen, it turned out she fell for the delicious double layered sleeves of the George top. She looked amazing and it was the perfect outfit for her.
Helen matched the dress with a modern floral arrangement by Anya at Bloom East and statement jewellery from Ruby Jack.
Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! Sending you all the love for your new adventures.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
