Lovely Emma | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful couple Emma and Joel Fisher-Housego celebrated their love with a relaxed, elegant day at Garthmyl Hall. The couple wanted to focus on having a great time with their nearest and dearest so sprinkled fun touches throughout the day for them to enjoy, like Margarita’s on the terrace.

Emma had tried on a number of gowns but hadn’t yet had that lightbulb moment of finding the one. She visited our wonderful stockist, The White Closet in Didsbury and everything fell into place.

“I was so excited about all the dresses, skirts, capes etc that there were to try on and how you could change the look of each dress to match your own style. I went with the silk Cheryl in the end on its own without any other pieces.  I tried a few over skirts (which I loved) but in the end I decided the fabric on the Cheryl was too beautiful to cover, and I loved that being able to tie the dress differently gave me multiple looks.

I knew it was the dress when I walked out and looked in the mirror and saw the fabric, the way it draped and caught the light was amazing. It felt so luxurious and different to anything I had tried on. I felt elegant and beautiful while not falling into any of the tropes of how a ‘bride’ should look.”

Emma wore her Cheryl tied in a beautifully simple halter neck with a bow at the back for the ceremony, then wrapped around her waist for a more dramatic look for the evening. She looked incredible and accessorised her dress with a Victoria Percival crown and Loeffler Randall heels.

Congratulations to Emma and Joel! Wishing them a lifetime of love and laughter together.

Love,
