Beautiful Natalie | A Halfpenny London bride
If you were looking for a sign to jet away for a destination wedding then here it is! This wedding has it all: a stunning bride, handsome groom, exquisite fashion, and an incredible setting.
Beautiful bride Natalie Chapman married her new husband Ross this August with a celebration in Barbados. They couple were keen for the day to feel modern and also to reflect them both.
“We flew out to Barbados with 23 members of our immediate family, so it was an intimate wedding celebration.” Natalie said. “We had our ceremony at the oldest church on the Island, St. James Parish Church, followed by our reception at Cobblers Cove Hotel, which is the most dreamy, charming and pink boutique hotel. We wanted our wedding to compliment and reflect the aesthetic of Cobblers Cove. ‘Too much pink’ doesn’t exist in my vocabulary, so I wanted an abundance of it along with bright colours, hand fans for the guest, single stem flowers and tapered candles, which were all perfect for the Caribbean setting!”
It’s a cold, grey day here in the UK as I write this so I’m soaking up every bit of sunshine in these incredible images, just pretending I’m in Barbados with Natalie and Ross. (If only!) The search for her perfect wedding dress led Natalie to one of our wonderful stockists, Amare.
“Prior to visiting the Amare bridal studio, I had been to two other bridal shops, but nothing quite compared to my experience at Amare which felt so personal. I started following Amare on Instagram before they opened their bridal studio and knew that it was number one on my list to book into. It was the most magical experience. From the aesthetics of the studio, to the playlist, even down to the scent of the diffuser that I was able to select for my appointment. Lyndsey has curated Amare without a flaw and I have recommended so many of my newly engaged friends to book an appointment!
Lyndsey had me try on all of the different Halfpenny separate combinations first and saved the best until last, The Mayfair dress! We all knew it was the one. I had my eye on it for a while and I pinned all of my hopes on the dress looking as fabulous as it did on other brides. I know the advice to brides is to not be surprised if the dress you love doesn’t suit you and to be open, but this one was just so perfect. The structured boning to the bodice, and the underskirt created a beautiful silhouette and made me feel so supported that I didn’t even need to wear a bra!”
Natalie knew she needed her wedding dress to be unique. She loved the drama of ruffles and bows so I’m pleased to hear Halfpenny London ticked all the boxes for her before she’d even tried on!
“I knew I’d be a Halfpenny London bride, because Kate’s dresses are renowned for featuring some of these details, so when my bridal appointment at Amare came, I tried on the different Halfpenny separate combinations and saved the best until last... The Mayfair dress. The dramatic sleeves, frills, silk, movement and boning… It felt like it was made for me! I felt so comfortable, I couldn’t stop smiling when I tried it on and my mum couldn’t either! I also loved the versatility in wearing the sleeves up for the ceremony and down for the reception as I knew I wouldn’t want to take Mayfair off!”
Natalie’s choice of a colourful bouquet of roses in shades of pink, white and coral, in contrast to the bridesmaids’ single stem white roses was the perfect choice in the Caribbean setting. She chose accessories with a little help from her mum and Lyndsey at Amare and settled on gold hoop and baroque pearl drop earrings from A.B.Ellie and her mum’s bracelet (a gift from her father before Natalie was born) as her something borrowed.
Huge congratulations to Natalie and Ross! We’re all swooning over these images by Leah Marie Photography so thank you all for allowing us to share them to inspire our new brides-to-be.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
