Gorgeous bride Ariel married her new husband Michael Trasso in a chic and classic wedding against the backdrop of the Lower Manhattan skyline, choosing Liberty house as the perfect venue.
“It was a given the wedding attire would be black tie,” Ariel said, “with help from some Frank Sinatra and Louie Prima!”
Ariel began her search for her dream dress, which led her to the Halfpenny London flagship boutique in Bloomsbury.
“Leading up to my wedding dress shopping journey, I was planning my “Euro-trip” having recently separated from the U.S. Navy. My sister, (who was stationed in Rota, Spain at the time—yes, she too was in the Navy) suggested we go wedding dress shopping in Spain when I finally got there. Once I saw the Halfpenny London Instagram account, I was pretty much hooked. I made an appointment and the rest was history! I bought my wedding dress that day!”
“Lola helped me during my initial visit and she had looks/shirts/skirts and dresses ready-to-go for trying on. She explained to me the overall process, how to get in and out of a wedding dress (things you don’t think about but are important!) and provided her honest opinion when I asked for it (also important!) When I was in doubt over the first option, she immediately accommodated me while I was still in London and made me a follow-up appointment a couple of days later. My friend and I had the downstairs reserved for the appointment—I felt like I was in the world’s largest closet, beautiful white gowns at my finger tips.”
Ariel chose the beautiful Iris Slip dress paired with the Daniel top and the Ariel bow, a stunning combination of separates layered to create her dream look.
“I liked the idea of having multiple looks throughout the wedding night in an effort to have everything all at the same time! The Iris Slip Dress is the perfect base which also looks gorgeous even by itself. It was comfortable too! The Daniel Top gave me that ‘statement sleeve’ look I was going for, while also keeping my arms covered for the church ceremony. The Ariel Bow was a no brainer. There was a moment during the first visit where we were deciding on a way of cinching the slip dress to give me some shape. Lola brought out some skirt and belt options, and when Kate Halfpenny walked downstairs (with her fluffy K-9 companion by her side), Lola asked her ‘What do you suggest?’ Kate responded with ‘Try the Ariel Bow!’ and we all erupted in laughter. The Ariel Bow was simply meant to be!”
I remember the moment well and it truly was meant to be!
Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you for sharing these stunning images with us and we wish you all the love and luck in the world for your new adventures.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
