Beautiful bride Lisa married her new husband Jonathan in a timeless, black tie ceremony last May at the historic estate of Mount Juliet. The couple focussed on an ethereal, old romantic theme, made extra special against the backdrop of the Irish countryside.

Lisa became familiar with Halfpenny London after a close friend tied the knot in our Mayfair dress. Lisa fell in love with our organza ruffles and frills and, when the time came to search for her own wedding dress, she booked an appointment to come along with her mum to our Bloomsbury boutique in London.

“I didn’t know exactly the style I wanted but I did know I wanted to be a Halfpenny bride,” Lisa said. “I liked taking the time to try on a whole variety of styles and different designers though, it’s such a special one-off experience that I wanted to make the most of it. It’s true what they say, you just never know what you’re going to like until you try them on!”

I never felt rushed into making a decision and they go to great lengths to make sure your order is right. I first visited with my Mum who had flown over especially from Ireland and we were so giddy and excited! For every appointment thereafter, I loved taking the time out of my day to go to the flagship store, it was such an oasis of calm amidst the wedding planning stress. I left feeling more confident about my choice every time.

[Deciding on my dress] was a hard choice but when I tried on the Rae dress, something shifted! Having a unique dress style that I could really call my own was important to me and there’s nothing more inimitable than Rae in my eyes. I definitely hadn’t seen anything like it before, I loved how it moved on my body and I felt incredible in it, the sleeves made me feel like an elegant ivory butterfly!”

“I wore my Mother’s veil which was so special, I was so lucky it was the perfect length and colour to match my dress, we didn’t need to change a thing. It had been preserved in really good condition and the ladies at Halfpenny attached it to a comb for me.”

I adore that Lisa paired her dress with an heirloom veil, what a gorgeous personal touch! She looked utterly beautiful and we wish her and Jonathan all the love and luck in the world!
