Poise | From sketch to ceremony
One of the things I love about doing what I do is that I never know what magic the day will bring. The Poise dress from Balance, Chapter One was born from pleating and experimentation, it is the perfect example of the importance of building on a strong foundation.
We have a love and passion for innovation in the design room and atelier. Myself and my team love to experiment and really push the boundaries of the textiles to create those wonderful looks Halfpenny London is known for. For me, innovation and exploration works best with a strong understanding of what has come before and, more importantly, what we’re building on.
The Poise dress is a voluminous taffeta dress which is secured to an incredible power mesh foundation. The lightweight inner-construction is so comfortable to wear, yet feels so supportive and completely secure for our brides to wear all day. We’ve added the delicious lightweight taffeta on top which cascades to the floor with a light and airy train. This statement dress can be worn parachute style, or nipped in at the waist.
Poise has quickly become a favourite with our brides and I wanted to share a glimpse behind the scenes at the craftsmanship that goes into making this beautiful gown. I hope you love it as much as I do.
