Newlyweds Aoife and Adam married in the summer of last year. Their day started with a traditional church ceremony, and the celebrations that followed unfolded within the charming setting of their family’s countryside garden in the New Forest. Aoife wanted her wedding reception to feel like an extension of the garden, with locally grown wildflowers everywhere. A nod to her Irish heritage, the couple also had a harpist and their very own Guinness and Oyster bar called “The Adam & Eve,” a play on their names.
Our Woburn Walk boutique was the first destination Aoife visited when starting her wedding dress search. “I loved my appointment,” Aoife said. “Hawa was so helpful and put me at total ease.” Before her visit, she hadn’t really found a dress that she truly loved. When she came across our collection of separates and accessories however, she knew she had to look no further! “I could effectively make my own bespoke perfect dress.”
One particular garment really stood out for Aoife: our Tide skirt. With a playful tutu perched on top of a voluminous silk organza skirt, the skirt is a modern take on a traditional shape. She paired it with the Oliver corset. “As soon as I saw the Tide skirt I knew that I would be getting married in it. It’s so fun and beautiful. I liked how the tutu layer on top made it more modern compared to other styles like this. I loved the simplicity of the Oliver corset with the skirt – it looked so classic. I knew I had found the one – now I just needed to narrow down my accessories!”
“The Ariel bow really elevated the dress and I loved how it sat on the tutu and looked from behind when walking down the aisle. I loved being able to keep my wonderful dress on but have an outfit change! The shrug sat so beautifully and I loved how the frills looked from the side and behind.”
“I was smiling from ear to ear when I tried it on and all the different accessories. My mum and friend were in tears too so I knew it must look good. I loved looking back at photos of my fitting and I could see how happy and confident the dress made me as I looked over the moon with joy. I think I smiled even more than when I tried it on first time round. I just couldn’t wait to wear it. I’m already trying to incorporate different pieces into my wardrobe for future parties!”
On her wedding day, Aoife completed the look with a bouquet of locally grown wildflowers, gold Prada platform heels, an elegant pearl hair bow and some vintage diamond earrings.
Reminiscing on her wedding day, Aoife shared some advice for future brides:
“Get a wedding planner if possible! It meant we could completely relax on the day without having to stress about anything and focus on really enjoying the day – which we very much did. Also, don’t stress if it rains. It rained quite a bit on our wedding day and the day was still perfect and the photos look great and really atmospheric! It also meant that people grouped under tents and helped to create an amazing atmosphere.”
Aoife looked utterly beautiful on her wedding day. We wish the newlyweds all the luck on their new adventures together!
