stunning Bethany | A Halfpenny London bride

I’m absolutely thrilled to share the gorgeous wedding of Bethany and Stephen Majdiš today. This is a very special one because Bethany is the sister or our Managing Director, Jessica. It was so wonderful working with Bethany on her perfect wedding look.

The couple were married in a refurbished greenhouse and enjoyed their first few hours as husband and wife enjoying the grounds at Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Being based in Australia, Bethany was thrilled to join us during our Sydney Pop Up earlier this year where we could show her the collection and find her dream dress.

“The dresses were superb!” Bethany said. “Each gown was beautifully made, exceptional quality. They were also unique, and I loved that you could mix and match options to create your own look. I chose the Okotan corset (with sleeves) in duchess satin to go with the Dove skirt. The Okotan corset is timeless and elegant, and held me in, in all the right places. The sleeves were the perfect addition for a winter wedding. I loved the split and pleated detail in the Dove skirt, and the pockets sealed the deal!”

Bethany looked utterly incredible and some of you may recognise the Okotan corset as the top we designed for Jess’s wedding in 2020. It’s so touching that both sisters wore the same corset but in a different fabric, and styled in their own, unique way. How wonderful!

“Weddings are always incredibly exciting to be a part of,” our MD Jess said. “and this year I got to celebrate my only sibling, my little sister Bethany, getting married to the love of her life. Even with the distance of an ocean between us we talked through lots of different combinations and styling options that she could wear for her winter wedding. It was one of the most special days to witness Bethany and Stephen celebrate their marriage with our families.

I'm so glad that my sister got to have the Halfpenny experience, which is like nothing you've ever experienced until being a bride. It's more than having a personal shopping experience, it's working one on one with a stylist to curate a look that feels so unique and perfectly tailored. She looked absolutely stunning and I wish we could live both of our wedding days over again.”
