Everything I had tried previously had been quite plain and ‘bridal’ but the moment I put it the Elder cape on I just felt so special! It was the first piece I put on, and I didn’t want to take it off.

Beautiful bride Charlotte married her new husband Adam against the dramatic backdrop of the Scottish Highlands in October 2023, celebrating their love with a romantic elopement at the Fife Arms hotel. Emma Lawson photography was on hand to capture these stunning images.

“I visited a few different designers and stockists before arriving at Halfpenny London,” Charlotte said. “It wasn’t until we had decided on the venue and that we were going to elope, that I decided Halfpenny would be the perfect designer to fit in with the Fife Arms theme and I felt I could go a little braver and different to the average bridal dress.”

I absolutely loved going on my own as I had no outside opinions to consider. I chose what I really loved, with no influence and that is how I knew it was the perfect choice!

Charlotte visited our flagship boutique in Bloomsbury and had a wonderful appointment with Halfpenny London stylist Niamh. Taking inspiration from our website, Charlotte selected her favourite styles and set her heart on the Elder cape and Lana slip.

“I had a lovely appointment with Niamh who immediately put me at ease. As Adam and I were eloping and no one knew, I went to the appointment on my own and Niamh and I just had fun trying on lots of different styles. I absolutely loved going on my own as I had no outside opinions to consider. I chose what I really loved, with no influence and that is how I knew it was the perfect choice! I chose ‘the one’ and then met Adam for a delicious dinner nearby at the Rosewood to celebrate!

Everything I had tried previously had been quite plain and ‘bridal’ but the moment I put it on I just felt so special! It was the first piece I put on, and I didn’t want to take it off. It was PERFECT for an elopement and to suit the wild and dramatic surroundings of the Cairngorms in Scotland. The way the candlelight in the church illuminated the beads was beautiful and it felt special and unique, just like our day.”

Charlotte chose to keep her accessories minimal, wearing a set of diamond stud earrings, pendant necklace and a tennis bracelet, incorporating a sapphire ring as her ‘something blue’ - a ring gifted to her mother from her father over thirty years ago!

She looked incredible and I’m thrilled she chose to wear Halfpenny London on her special day. Huge congratulations to the happy couple and we wish them all the love in the world!

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
