Stunning bride Clarissa married her new husband Will in a chic, countryside wedding last June. The couple had a distinct vision for the day and wished for a whimsical and relaxed feel, as if their guests had stepped into a cottage garden. They incorporated nods to their Scottish and Caribbean heritage, and prioritised great food and music.
Clarissa had been following our social accounts for a while and knew her dream dress was waiting at our Bloomsbury boutique.
“My first appointment was with Lola,” she said, “and I had the most magical of experiences. I had followed the boutique for a while and knew that I wanted to try on some of the dresses. Myself and my bridal team that came with me for the very first appointment were so well taken care of and attended to the whole time. We tried a variety of dresses in the first fitting to get an idea of the style of dress I was after.”
Clarissa fell in love with our beautiful Ash dress and paired it with our Boston puff-sleeve top which is adorned with handmade silk organza flowers.
“[I knew it was The One] when I came out of the dressing room and looked at myself in the mirror I felt like a bride, then the overwhelming feeling washed over me of just feeling like me. I was so comfortable and the dress had the perfect amount of drama to it in the skirt. I had always known that I wanted a train as we were getting married in a church with a long aisle. I had always envisaged a long train following me down the aisle and following behind me.
I always knew that I wanted a dress that had many different components to it within one dress. I wanted to be able to change the look from a day wedding dress to a party dress seamlessly. This combination together was breathtaking. As soon as I tried the Ash dress on I felt like a bride. The train was so dramatic and fun and the top added a certain whimsical element to it. Perfect for a countryside wedding in Hampshire.”
To accessorise her beautiful look, Clarissa borrowed her mother-in-law’s veil which then acted as her ‘something borrowed’ while florist Kate Bellamy created a seasonal bouquet of flowers and foliage.
Huge congratulations to the happy couple! We are so thrilled Clarissa chose to wear Halfpenny London on her special day and wish them both all the love and luck in the world.
Love,
