Beautiful bride Jessie married her new husband Edward Lewis in July 2023. The couple curated their day and filled it with personal touches with help from their family and friends.
“Our wedding was an eclectic mixture of everything and everyone we love,” Jessie said. “From the styling and colour-way, beautiful flowers grown by my mother and wonderful friend (Emma from Luna bloom) down to the acapella singers and Oyster Shuker.”
Jessie found her dream dress in our Bloomsbury boutique having made the journey from Shropshire to London with her sister, mum and grandmother.
“We arrived at the Woburn Walk store and were introduced to Niamh who led us through the entire process. I had already told her the pieces I was keen to try and so we got to work mixing and matching and trying different combinations. Niamh was fantastic, with a great sense of humour and she couldn’t do enough for us.”
“I didn’t have the ‘big wow’ moment that everyone talks about and I think that would be my piece of advice to anyone going to try wedding dresses on, don’t be disappointed if you’re not all weeping when you try on ‘the one’. When you know, you know but it’s not always that moment that you see in the movies.
The Okotan corset gave the shape and support that I hadn’t seen in any other dresses and the drape on the silk was just so beautiful. The Ellie skirt gave just the right amount of ‘swish’ and IT HAD POCKETS - what else could I have wanted?! The pièce de résistance was most definitely the Ariel Bow. My Granny had spotted it draped over a chair and was adamant that I try it on and she was so right. It just finished the dress off - completely beautiful!“
Jessie looked utterly incredible and I’m completely in love with her chosen combination, especially the addition of the gorgeous mikado bow. Stunning!
“I had a beautiful bouquet of Dahlias, Garden Roses, Phlox, Cosmos, Malope and Jasmine Trails in pinks and whites. These were all homegrown and created lovingly by my wonderful friend Emma and created using sustainable methods, avoiding any floral foam or single-use plastics. They were tied with a piece of silk that I hand-dyed bright pink to contrast with my dress and match my beautiful bridesmaid's dresses.
My headband was also handmade by the talented Rebecca Jones hats, in Shropshire. She used a sample of the silk from my dress to make the base and then laid a silk beaded tulle over the top and hand-beaded where needed. I loved it and the height it gave, being 5’3” and marrying Ed at 6’4” - I needed all the help I could get!”
Jessie finished her look with a clutch bag from Cult Gaia and shoes by Fabienne Chapot, changing into her dancing shoes for the evening: personalised white Supergas had hand-painted at the Carnaby Store.
Huge congratulations to Jessie and Edward! Thank you for sharing these stunning images with us and we wish you all the happiness in the world.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
