Stunning rosie | A Halfpenny London Bride
Lovely couple Rosie and Tom Shackelford celebrated their love with a chic, rustic celebration in Italy last summer.
“We chose a beautiful Masseria in Puglia (Masseria Narducci), run by a wonderful family for five generations,” Rosie said. “This allowed us to have vivid colors, contrasting the beautiful sunshine of southern Italy. We wanted the venue to do a lot of the work, with minimal flowers, allowing the blue skies, white walls and olive groves to set the scene - some of which are hundreds of years old.”
Rosie’s wedding dress search brought her to our flagship boutique where my wonderful team helped her find exactly what she was looking for.
“I loved choosing my dress at Halfpenny. I was helped massively by your amazing team, who understood what I wanted for my wedding, and helped me find the perfect dress that fit the rustic setting of the wedding - not to mention the need to withstand the 30 degree heat of the Italian sunshine. My first appointment was so wonderful, trying on many styles, learning about the different designs and trying on all the amazing accessories. I fell in love with the capes and veils. The team was so accommodating. They made sure I had exactly what I wanted, and devoted their time to me and my needs. It’s an exciting, but scary process choosing a dress, and they made sure I had everything I needed to make the right decision.”
Rosie chose our Thea dress, and styled it with the Ariel bow. The Soft Dandelion veil completed her look.
“The second I saw the bow, I knew that I had to have it, so I felt the simple elegance of the dress worked well with it. The material of the dress was so beautiful, it felt comfortable, and had the weight to it, that made it fit so perfectly. I chose the veil to add some magic to what was already a stunning outfit. It gave me the detail I wanted, to balance the simplicity of the dress. I loved my veil so much that I refused to take it off for most of my day, and managed to do my first dance in it, despite its size! I knew this was ‘the one’ because it balanced elegance and simplicity with a bit of fairytale. The statement bow with the breathtaking veil made me feel phenomenal. It also matched my regular style, simple with standout accessories, so I knew I would feel great in it on the day.”
I love seeing how our brides style the collection and adore Rosie’s beautiful look. She kept her shoes and accessories simple, adding her grandmother’s aquamarine ring as her something blue.
