Wonder | Behind the scenes

It’s been so wonderful to hear all the feedback on the new Wonder collection which we launched yesterday during New York Bridal Fashion Week. This collection was conceived at a pivotal time in my personal life and the inspiration came about from the amount of change which happened within my life, and also concurrently in my team‘s life, and within the business. Lots of us have many questions that we’re asking ourselves at the moment of how we want to live our lives and also re-looking and rediscovering things that inspire us.

Being a stylist for over twenty years, it’s so important to constantly be curious and to always be searching for that little seed of inspiration and that little bit of magic everywhere you look. Inspiration can come from all sorts of places. Experimenting with the way garments are worn is always fun during the development process and can often throw up some interesting ideas for new designs. I always turn to fabrics and textures for the ultimate inspiration and love seeing a garment take shape on a mannequin before my eyes.

With Wonder, we have a stunning mix of fabrics for anyone who is obsessed with textiles, like me. From featherlight taffeta to silk organza, 3d embroidery to liquid Duchess satin, we’ve created such wondrous silhouettes I know our brides will love.

The trains on the dresses have never flowed so beautifully the way they have in this collection. The atelier team have perfected the cut to the point where the skirts flow and undulate so naturally when in motion. I love working with such talented and creative individuals who can realise the concepts we imagine during the design process, and take my scruffy little sketches and turn them into magical 3D gowns

We had a wonderful time shooting this new campaign at The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square. (See the full gallery of images by Zach&Grace here.) We were also so grateful to Sophia Webster for the loan of such beautiful shoes. I’m thrilled with the feedback so far and I can’t wait to see my lovely brides rocking these new designs. The collection will be available in the boutique this autumn.
