Gorgeous Kristen | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Kristen Fox and her new husband Henry tied the knot this August. Nestled into the rolling hills just outside of Bath, the couple sought to create a timeless escape within a beautiful English countryside garden, using florals that represent the romantic hues of British summertime.
When it came to her dress search, Kristen knew she wanted to try on Halfpenny London gowns and visited the fabulous Wander Atelier in New Jersey.
“I first tried my dress on at Wander Atelier and had a phenomenal experience. Individualized attention from the owner herself made me feel the most special. Similarly, when I visited the Halfpenny boutique in London, I was greeted with the same individualized attentiveness and readiness to find me my perfect dress.
While there were many things about my wedding that were traditional, I was very focused on the subtle subtext not being traditional. I was not a bride being given away by her father to another man that is now expected to take care of me… I’m an independent woman that has paved her own path in this world and is choosing a partner to enjoy this journey with. The Cheryl dress embodied all of that emotion for me. It’s timeless yet modern, elegant but sexy. It made me feel beautiful and powerful.”
Kristen’s words are wonderful to read! Our mantra is “be the bride you want to be” and I’m over the moon our Cheryl dress allowed her to express herself in this way.
“I didn’t know this was my dream dress until I put it on. My sister and my best friend (both my maids of honor) actually picked out the dress at the boutique and I didn’t think I liked it at first. Thinking it’d be my least favorite, I chose to try it on first. Well, I was wrong. Its simple, silk drapery is absolutely stunning – accentuating my best features with the most subtle detail. Everything about the dress felt right and I felt like the best version of myself in it.”
Kristen looked incredible! She completed her look with accessories borrowed from her grandmothers:
“My something blue was a beautiful sapphire and white diamond flower ring, my something old was a vintage gold watch bracelet, and my something borrowed (and my most favorite accessory of all) was my paternal grandmother’s feathered tule bow hairpiece that she wore on her wedding day.”
It fills me with such joy each time a bride chooses to wear a Halfpenny London dress for one of the most important days of her life and all I ever want is for her to feel like her best self. What a dreamy bride Kristen is, her words mean so much to myself and my incredible team.
Congratulations Kristen and Henry! Here’s to years of blissful happiness for you both in the decades to come.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
