I stepped into the Ellie skirt and I started to get excited, I think it was the first time I could truly see myself walking down the aisle in a dress - it felt right on me.

Beautiful bride Mia married her new husband Tom in a fun and memorable ceremony in New South Wales in October of last year. The couple embraced a bright and colourful theme and instructed their guests to ‘wear the outfit you’ve always wanted to wear’.

“We wanted everyone to choose an outfit that made them smile and feel their best,” said Mia. “We had guests in sequins, feathers and neons. It was great. We wanted guests to walk away with such fond memories of our day and that our wedding truly felt like a reflection of us.”

Mia visited the wonderful Lyndsey at Amare, our beloved stockist in Staffordshire, and created a stunning look for her wedding day using our interchangeable separates.

“I walked into my scheduled appointment at Amare Bridal and was greeted with soft lighting, peaceful music and a coupe glass full of champagne - it was the exclusive and thoughtful bridal experience I had dreamt of. Instantly I was at ease and was so excited to try on the stunning dresses I could see hanging around me. These dresses were different, each dress you could see was perfectly made - delicate, soft and so feminine.

I instantly knew looking into that mirror that it was meant for me, I felt like I was floating and I could not get that feeling out of my head.

“The fifth dress I tried on that day was the Oliver dress. I didn’t want a tight fitting dress but I loved the shape of the strapless neckline, but I couldn't shake the mikado silk fabric I had just tried on. Lyndsey then suggested I tried an overskirt. Well that was it, I stepped into the Ellie skirt and I started to get excited, I think it was the first time I could truly see myself walking down the aisle in a dress - it felt right on me. Although, something was missing. I did want a wow-factor or a special something on the dress and then that is when Lyndsey suggested the Sun sleeves. The moment I slid them up my arms, I was sold. I knew it was my dress.

Knowing it’s ‘the one’ is all about the feeling. My mum filmed my reaction and I spent the next 12 months waiting for my dress watching that video of me falling in love with the dress for the first time on repeat. I instantly knew looking into that mirror that it was meant for me, I felt like I was floating and I could not get that feeling out of my head. I left the appointment that day knowing that one way or another, I would wear that top, skirt and sleeves marrying my husband.

Mia chose an artificial bouquet full of amazing silk flowers in vibrant colours which would last forever and when it came to the finishing touches, Mia wore her hair in a sleek, high bun and added some floral earrings to complete her look. I am so thrilled Mia chose to wear Halfpenny London on her wedding day, she looked incredible!

Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Here’s to countless year of happiness together.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
