Our wonderful stockist Melody Nelson is located in Namur in the French speaking part of Belgium, a perfect location for brides-to-be in the surrounding areas searching for chic wedding dresses with an edge. Inspired by the unconventionality of the seventies and Serge Gainsbourg’s artistic work, Melody Nelson has welcomed brides seeking uniqueness since 2017. We caught up with the wonderful Géraldine, founder of Melody Nelson to hear about her inspiration, their home town and the Halfpenny London pieces she’s loving right now.
Géraldine, how did you get into the bridal business?
I was drawn to the bridal business thanks to my husband who was a wedding photographer, and my passion for fashion and the bridal world.
Describe your boutique in one word:
Edgy and chic.
Where is your boutique and why did you choose that area?
In Namur in the French speaking part of Belgium and close to Brussels. I chose this area to provide an easy access to our customers from the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, France, Luxemburg, the Netherlands. Namur is also my home town and I wanted to bring brides to know more about the city. Belgium is quite small and brides are ready to travel the country to try on a brand they love. I welcome a lot of brides from all over the country.
What can brides to be expect when visiting your boutique?
A bride can expect an individual and comfy appointment. We take the time to discuss and define their style and expectations in a warm atmosphere.
Tell us what you love about your city/town?
This is my home town. It's quite central in the country yet still feels like a little and beautiful town.
Why do you love Halfpenny London?
I love your expertise and perfect quality reputation. I love your traditional, yet super edgy and extravagant style, and timeless styles which can be adapted and transformed into unique pieces!
