London Craft Week | Individual expression & Repurposing textiles
Individual expression is a cornerstone of Halfpenny London and a philosophy I live by. I love celebrating every woman’s uniqueness by guiding them towards their perfect wedding outfit, and this week we were able to see them express themselves in a different way at our London Craft Week workshops.
We had lots of wonderful guests join us in the atelier to craft a unique bag using off-cuts of fabric from our bridal collections, now lovingly repurposed into something very precious. Starting off with a demonstration from our expert seamstresses, guests enjoyed a delicious glass of Maison Mirabeau rosé, or low alcohol “bubbles with benefits” by Wild Life Botanicals, then they were able to select their embellishments from our treasure trove of fabrics. We’ve been saving our off-cuts for a long time and have been repurposing them, where-possible, into gorgeous embellishments in our collection so our guests were able to choose from delicious beading, intricate embroidery, sparking sequins, and much more. In fact, the bags themselves were also created using off-cuts! (Read more about our sustainability initiatives here.)
I loved seeing the stunning creations and adore how creatively everyone used our beautiful fabrics, giving them a whole new life.
Thank you to everyone who came along, and to our event partners Maison Mirabeau, Wild Life Botanicals, Floral Street, Weleda, and Dr Jackson’s Skincare for providing such lovely treats. I can’t wait to see how you style your gorgeous bags!
Love,
Kate xxx
