Lovely Lisa | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride Lisa and her new husband Thorben celebrated their love in August last year. They enjoyed an elegant wedding with white florals which really allowed their stunning venue to shine.

Lisa discovered Halfpenny London when she visited our wonderful Berlin stockist, Zo & Willow, her first bridal shop experience and also her last because she found her dream dress right away!

“We preselected some styles I wanted to try before I came to visit, also the dress I chose. Zoé [at Zo & Willow] was so supportive and not pushing me towards any decision. I tried on many more Halfpenny London dresses that day and time was rushing but in the end I found my dress.

I chose the Iris slip dress and the Peter cape. It was one of the preselected dresses because I saw the look online and thought “hey this looks cool” but I didn’t think this could actually be it. But when slipping on the Iris dress, it just felt right immediately. I knew I didn’t want to hide my body and I really loved that it is not overly tight but still flows with ease around the body. I loved the open back and just the clear cut. The Peter cape was, for me, the perfect choice as I always wanted to somehow cover my arms and shoulders but I just didn’t like the dresses with sleeves on me so the cape was just an eye opening surprise that also gave the whole thing this flowing elegant touch, and I knew that I could detach it for our first dance. I love it!

Trying on the dress it was so effortless and chic and I got goosebumps. That was a surprise because I always thought I would choose something with lace and a more flowy skirt but it felt just like me. It’s hard to describe. And when we put the Peter cape on top I just knew it was the one. Me and my best friend had tears in our eyes and I couldn’t get it out of my head while trying on other dresses. I had to put it on again in the end and I just loved it so much. Still do and I wish we could repeat this day.”
