Beautiful Amie and new husband William celebrated their civil ceremony in London last summer. The newlyweds, who are both from Australia, wanted their special day to reflect their love for London, the city where they met. Their ceremony was held at Chelsea Old Town Hall, followed by a red double-decker bus tour overlooking Big Ben and other sights, and a lively pub lunch which carried on well into the evening.
Amie envisioned a contemporary wedding dress for her big day, something unique and a little bit different. When she walked through the doors of our Woburn Walk boutique on a beautiful spring morning, she fell in love with our Lexie, a mini wedding dress.
“I had explored a number of London designers that I truly adored, all with a contemporary feel that resonated with me,” Amie said. “I quickly figured out which silhouettes and cuts worked best for me, and I already had my eye on a few of Halfpenny London’s designs. I knew I wanted something modern and unique, so visiting Halfpenny London felt like a natural next step before making my final decision. The team made me feel completely at ease, and it felt like they quickly and genuinely understood my style. Finding the dress at Halfpenny London was such a memorable moment.”
“I chose the Lexie because it made me feel both sexy and confident. It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed—perfectly modern and elegant. We only had one word to describe it, iconic! For a modern wedding, the blazer style felt perfect—almost like a nod to London’s bold, contemporary style. It was feminine and empowering, turning something traditionally masculine into something beautiful and perfect for the occasion. I also wanted to completely surprise my husband with something totally unexpected but very ‘me’.”
To complement her modern look, Amy wanted to keep her accessories simple and minimal, opting for some dainty jewellery. For a beautiful contrast between classic and contemporary, she wore her grandmother’s vintage diamond and emerald ring — bringing together the old and new.
“Trust your instincts—when you find the one, you’ll just know. It’s easy to get caught up in trends or expectations, but the dress that makes you feel most like you is always the right choice. Don’t overthink it—go with what feels right and, most importantly, have fun with the process.”
We’re thrilled to have played a small part in Amie and William’s special day. We wish them a wonderful future together!
