Stunning Georgie | A Halfpenny London Bride
Lovely couple Georgie May and Dominic McGregor said ‘I do’ with a fairytale-themed wedding in a French Chateau in Aix-En-Provence.
“My vision for the wedding weekend was to be a magical and enchanting affair, reminiscent of a romantic storybook,” Georgie said. “The setting at Chateau de Fonscolombe was the perfect picturesque venue, with its elegant architecture, sweeping staircases, large blue shuttered windows, complete with a tiny church under a canopy of shady plane trees, all set in private lush gardens and the tranquil atmosphere created a dreamy atmosphere for the celebrations.”
A spectacular setting needs a stunning gown and while Georgie had envisioned the moment of finding the perfect wedding dress for so long, at the time she felt she had no idea where to even begin finding it.
“I wanted to find a gown that made me feel like a true princes, however finding the right dress I knew could be a daunting task, and despite many a Pinterest board, I hadn’t a clue which style or look I wanted, and felt overwhelmed at the thought of choosing ‘the one’. I had heard about Halfpenny before and was intrigued by online recommendations. Looking on instagram, I was drawn to Kate’s unique aesthetic, so I decided to make an appointment whilst I was in London and see what they had to offer. On the day of the appointment, it was the second bridal boutique that I ever visited, so I entered the Halfpenny London boutique with an open mind and anticipation - not sure what to really expect and definitely had no idea that I was about to strike gold.
The interior was charming and sophisticated, with racks of breathtaking dresses showcasing delicate fabrics and intricate details. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making me feel unhurried and at ease as I prepared for this special experience. My consultant was friendly and attentive, taking the time to listen to my preferences and understand the vision I had for my wedding day. As she pulled out a selection of gowns for me to try on, I was immediately struck by the uniqueness of each design. From ethereal lace to silk, there was an array of styles that perfectly aligned with what I had envisioned.
The very first dress I tried on - I was overcome with emotion and simply knew that it was “the one”.
As the appointment came to a close, I knew I had experienced something truly remarkable. Halfpenny London had not only exceeded my expectations with their stunning dress collection but also provided me with an exceptional bridal shopping experience. I left the boutique feeling excited and confident that I had found the dress of my dreams. For the first time since being engaged, I really did feel like a Bride.
Being a Bride, you are under so much pressure to look and feel perfect on your wedding day - like many women, I have my share body hangups but in this dress I really did feel like the most beautiful version of my self - I felt like a princess, I felt like a bride - and still felt like ‘me’. What really did help was the staff’s knowledge and patience - allowing me to take the time I needed to truly connect with the dress and be confident of my decision. I really can’t thank them enough for making the whole experience so special from that initial visit right to picking up my dress 16 months later.”
Georgie completed her look with Dior sling backs, a white Chanel bag, and diamond and sapphire jewellery. She looked utterly stunning and I’m thrilled she chose to wear Halfpenny London for her special day.
Huge congratulations to the lovebirds! Wishing them both all the love and luck in the world!
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
