Stunning Johanna | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Johanna and her new husband Steven celebrated their love in July this year. They decided on a classic black and white theme for their Ibiza wedding.
“We loved the idea of a style that would stand the test of time,” Johanna said. “Simple but beautiful. The views at our venue were spectacular and we didn't want to take away from the beauty of being outside all day and night.
Getting married abroad in peak summer heat created a challenge for me when looking for a wedding dress. I knew that I wanted a classic style in a luxurious material that would look beautiful in the Ibiza sun. I love dancing and wanted something that I could dance the night away in and this was another huge factor in deciding to go for the Cheryl dress. I was instantly attracted to the material of the Cheryl gown, the feel and weight of the dress was stunning. Having my entire back on show and being aboard was the perfect sleek style I had been looking for.”
Johanna loved the idea of adding an overskirt for the ceremony and our glorious Mikado Christian skirt gave her everything she was looking for and she loved the idea of having two looks in one!
“Standing in front of the mirror wearing the dress I felt a whole surge of emotions and I instantly knew it was the dress for me. Having the option of adding on an overskirt for the ceremony which gave me a completely different silhouette for walking down the aisle and then being able to take it off to dance the night away under the stars was my dream come true. I also loved the fact both garments were made in the UK and following the Halfpenny London Instagram account I knew the face behind the person that had designed my dress, which felt so lovely.The colour and material of the Cheryl gown made me think of the iconic sunset in Ibiza and the reason why we chose to get married on the island and with that said there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that this dress was perfect for me.”
It was indeed the perfect dress! She looked incredible and I adore this outfit, two Halfpenny London classic pieces styled together.
Johanna’s accessories included a simple veil, pearl earrings from Amber Sceats, and a vintage blue opal ring - a gift from her parents as her something old and blue.
