Lovely Sarah | A real Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Sarah’s wedding was a relaxed celebration of London, the city she and her hubby met in. I adore these images of the couple looking so completely happy and in love!
I talk a lot about “being the bride you want to be”. It really is something I live by and I’m proud that myself and my team specialise in this! Sarah had found her dress shopping experience a little tricky before coming to see us but I’m pleased to say it all worked out when she walked through our doors.
“Before visiting Halfpenny my dress experience was very confusing. I had no idea of ‘what bride I wanted to be’ other than being the best version of myself. Some shops didn’t understand this and wanted me to fit into a particular category. I tried so many different fits, styles, fabrics and colours of ivory but nothing felt authentic and very me. Team that with the fact I’m not a sample size and wham!!! I became very anxious and stressed that I would not find anything…….
……Enter Halfpenny! From my very first visit I instantly felt more relaxed (mostly due to the gorgeous showroom and fabulous staff) who worked with me to understand my own personal style, what I wanted from a dress and how I wanted to feel. The wonderful Katie helped me navigate my way through the collections until we landed on a few pieces I loved the shape of. I became obsessed with the fabric of the Pearl Dress from the Atlantis collection but loved the Laura Top teamed with a skirt. Seeing how confused I was Katie offered up something radical which was to use the fabric from the dress in the skirt shape!! Instantly I knew that was the wedding outfit for me and the rest was history.”
Sarah works in fashion and is a fellow fabric obsessive, like me! She’s obsessed with how textiles drape and fall on the body. Luckily, she’d come to the right place.
“There was something about the way the fabrics sat against my figure that just flattered all my lumps and bumps. When I put on the Laura Top it really just blew me away, I loved the simple elegance of the front and then the amazing cowl back. When I looked to my friends for their opinion their faces said it all and confirmed what I was feeling inside. That it was my wedding dress.”
Sarah finished off her look with a hand-tied, unstructured bouquet and a headpiece by Naturae Design. She looked absolutely sensational and I’m so pleased she was able to follow her heart and feel like herself on her special day.
Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you all the love and luck for your new adventures as a married couple.
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xx
