Gorgeous couple Clare and Andrew Everson-Stafford said ‘I do’ at a French chateau in the Dordogne countryside this summer. The couple loved the romantic, whimsical setting, and added their own cool, contemporary flair to the celebration.
Clare’s wedding dress search started off very well when she took a chance and booked an appointment at our sample sale. “Halfpenny was the first designer I went to, because I had already fallen in love with Kate’s designs and textures that I’d seen online,” she said. “All the designs oozed elegance and class, yet there’s an air of playfulness which I loved. I was in awe of all the beautiful styles and fabrics. I had researched a lot online, but the boutique in real life was as dreamy as I had imagined. With each piece I tried on, Lola could read how I felt in each look, so would suggest various ideas accordingly.”
“I tried the Mayfair dress which was beautiful and another with capped organza sleeves which was tighter fitting. However I kept coming back in my mind to Cheryl – elegant, backless and beautiful bow. The material felt gorgeous and I loved the flattering halterneck. It felt so “me”. When looking online for inspiration there’s so much choice but I went with my heart and bought it there and then!”
Having found the perfect dress, Clare was keen to experiment with styling options so came back to the boutique to try our beautiful overskirts and veils to add to her look.
“I loved the three ruffles of the Mayfair skirt, the effect of the sheer organza, and how it added extra volume to my ceremony look. Even when I tried other options, this was the combination I kept coming back to. I couldn’t stop smiling walking around the boutique in them both – I felt elegant yet playful. I could imagine wearing the Mayfair skirt walking around the chateau grounds seeing all our loved ones, whilst also having our first dance in Cheryl on its own as my evening look. I was so excited to wear it and I had so much fun in my dream outfit.”
Clare paired the outfit with an elegant veil, a pair of drop pearl earrings, her Nanny’s signet ring, and a beautiful loose updo which showcased the stunning back of the Cheryl gown.
I adore these images by Faye Wilde Photography which truly capture the magic of Clare and Andrew’s special day. We all wish the happy couple every happiness in the world!
Love,
