Newlyweds Emma and Samuel tied the knot last September in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. They knew they wanted to celebrate in Ireland, their home country, and found their perfect venue in Virginia Park Lodge.
Emma is an excellent make up artist and we were lucky enough to work with her before she got engaged. When the time came, she knew exactly where to start her bridal journey!
“I worked as a makeup artist on one of the Halfpenny London bridal fashion week shows in London a few years ago and instantly fell in love with Kate’s designs,” Emma said. “I always said if I get engaged I am definitely putting Halfpenny London on my list. It was the first store I visited. It was pretty much love at first sight. I visited other bridal shops but nothing compared to Halfpenny.”
Emma enlisted her three best friends to accompany her to the appointment at our London flagship store. Like many brides, Emma was nervous to try on dresses but her worries soon disappeared.
“I was super nervous as I had never really envisioned what I would wear or style that would suit me. I had my daughter four months prior to my appointment so I knew my body had changed a lot and was nervous about how any dress would look on me. I had looked on Halfpenny’s instagram account and showed Megan, the stylist, one or two dresses I liked. She was incredibly kind and helped me pick out several different styles. She explained each design to me and made me feel super comfortable. The first dress I tried on was that instant ‘wow’ moment. I felt like I could get married tomorrow. I instantly felt Megan’s warmth and was looking forward to seeing her at my second appointment.”
The timeless elegance of the Okotan corset and Okotan long skirt fit perfectly with Emma’s style. She paired her outfit with the textured Dandelion veil, perfect for a dramatic entrance.
“I never envisioned wearing a long veil but when Megan got me to try it I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had to have it. I hope one day my daughter might want it. I see it as a family heirloom now.”
“It may sound cliche but the outfit just felt like me. I felt confident and beautiful. I think post-baby you question a lot of what suits you. It was probably the first time I felt ‘wow I am getting married and I am really excited for Sam to see me in my dress’. I also loved that it was two pieces. That I could wear them again, I cannot wait to incorporate them into my wardrobe.”
Emma complemented her dress with a pair of gold and diamond stud earrings and also added her mum’s bracelets for a beautifully sentimental touch. She looked sensational and we’re so thrilled that she chose to wear Halfpenny London for her special day. We wish her and Samuel all the happiness in the world!
