Gorgeous couple Tara and Charlie Richards-Gladstone said “I do” last June in a traditional wedding with a personal twist.
“We were so lucky to have such an amazing home to get married in,” Tara said, “which honestly really set the tone for the weekend so easily. Our theme was a balance of quite traditional with some fun and modern twists thrown in - we wanted loads of colour, and loads of energy and fun. I really think this came through, especially in the decoration and in the food!
When it came to finding her dream wedding dress, Tara wanted something contemporary, classic, and cool.
“I actually did some research online, and the dress that I ended up choosing was the first dress that I ever screenshotted online once I was engaged. I chose the Okatan corset, the Ellie skirt and the Ariel bow. I loved the idea of mixing and matching elements to create the exact style and vibe that I was after. I felt that the corset offered a beautiful, elegant and contemporary look and the skirt felt a bit more classic. I loved the mixing of those two things, and the items just felt amazing too. So well tailored, so well made, everything hung in the right places. I loved it! I honestly think the corset is one of the most perfect pieces of clothing I’ve ever seen! It is so well made, so comfy, so supporting and also so beautiful. Everything just felt amazing when it was on, and they all worked so well together.“
“My experience with you was 10/10. All of the team were genuinely so nice, and made the sample dresses feel amazing. They were super helpful with accessories and advice, picking out suggestions for me to try. And once I chose, everything was super easy and relaxed and the fitting team and seamstresses were fantastic. I was so pleased with my dress, and they really made it a fun and great experience. I honestly think it paved the way for a really relaxed wedding experience.”
“I wore my sister’s veil, with a Victoria Percival crown/hairband - I was quite out there but I loved it! I really wanted to go quite punchy with my accessories, as that’s something I do in everyday life. I wore loads of earrings, a mixture of classic and modern and some ear cuffs too. For my flowers, I had a lot of colour in there, dahlias, peonies and roses. We are so lucky to have an amazing florist in our village (Forest Flower Studio, Hawarden)and she absolutely nailed it.”
Tara looked incredible and I adore the mix of traditional and modern elements for this beautiful wedding. Huge congratulations to the happy couple. Here’s to countless years of wedded bliss!
Love,
Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
